In plain English
What this trial is testing
Condition(s) listed: Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Disease Activity and FAPI. This is an observational study: researchers collect information (for example questionnaires, samples, or scans) but the study does not assign a treatment.
Who can join
- Ages 18 and older
- Any sex
Some of the main requirements, copied from the record:
- Patients diagnosed with IBD according to clinical, imaging, endoscopic, and histopathological criteria;
- Patients ≥18 years old;
- 18F-FAPI PET/CT intestinal imaging, conventional endoscopic and enhanced CT were performed within 1 week;
Plus 2 more requirement(s). There are also 3 reasons someone might not be able to join (exclusion criteria). Only the trial team can confirm whether you qualify.
What's involved
- About 30 participants are expected to take part.
- Start date: 2025-04-25.
- Main results expected around 2027-12-31 (estimate from the record).
- 1 study site listed (1 marked recruiting) in China.
Main thing being measured
- The efficacy of 18F-FAPI PET imaging and enhanced CT in the identification of intestinal lesions in IBD was compared and evaluated (2025.4-2027.12)
In the researchers’ words
The goal of this observational study is to evaluate the role and effect of 18F-FAPI PET imaging in the identification of intestinal lesions and the assessment of disease activity in inflammatory bowel disease. The main question it aims to answer is: Can 18F-FAPI PET imaging effectively identify intestinal lesions in inflammatory bowel disease and accurately assess disease activity?

Questions to ask your doctor and the trial team
- Am I likely to qualify, given my health history?
- What would I have to do, and how often would I need to visit?
- Could I get a placebo? What happens to my current treatment?
- What are the possible risks and benefits?
- Are travel or other costs covered?
- What happens after the trial ends?

Interventions
- 18F-FAPI PET Imaging (Diagnostic Test)
The ROI of the target lesions was delineated based on 18F-FAPI PET Imaging, and the lesions were divided on the cross section to obtain the lesions SUVmax, SUVmean, SUVpeak, FAPI metabolic volume (FAV), MTV, TBR, and TLG.
Full eligibility criteria (from the record)
Inclusion Criteria: * Patients diagnosed with IBD according to clinical, imaging, endoscopic, and histopathological criteria; * Patients ≥18 years old; * 18F-FAPI PET/CT intestinal imaging, conventional endoscopic and enhanced CT were performed within 1 week; * Intestinal segment matching was evaluated by endoscopy and imaging; * Patients voluntarily participate and sign informed consent. Exclusion Criteria: * Pregnant or lactating patients; * Imaging images are of poor quality and cannot be used for diagnosis and evaluation; * Patients with contraindications for endoscopic or CT examination.
