There are also 10 reasons someone might not be able to join (exclusion criteria). Only the trial team can confirm whether you qualify.
What's involved
- About 1000 participants are expected to take part.
- Start date: 2025-12-08.
- Main results expected around 2026-10-01 (estimate from the record).
- 1 study site listed (1 marked recruiting) in China.
Main thing being measured
- adequate bowel preparation rate (The adequate bowel preparation rate can be assessed immediately upon completion of colonoscopy)
In the researchers’ words
The primary objectives of this project are twofold. On the one hand, it aims to investigate the current status of bowel preparation protocols and their quality in IBD patients undergoing colonoscopy, particularly focusing on the implementation of these protocols across hospitals following the release of the 2023 bowel preparation guidelines.

Questions to ask your doctor and the trial team
- Am I likely to qualify, given my health history?
- What would I have to do, and how often would I need to visit?
- Could I get a placebo? What happens to my current treatment?
- What are the possible risks and benefits?
- Are travel or other costs covered?
- What happens after the trial ends?

Interventions
- Standard Pre-colonoscopy Bowel Preparation Protocol (Other)
This involves standard clinical instructions including a low-residue diet prior to colonoscopy and the administration of bowel cleansing agents (e.g., Polyethylene Glycol) according to the split-dose regimen as per each participating center's routine practice. The timing, dosage, and specific agent used follow existing institutional guidelines.
