What this trial is testing

- Any sex
- Healthy volunteers accepted
Some of the main requirements, copied from the record:
- Pediatric patients aged between 2 and 17 years

- For the control group: absence of current or previous diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease
Plus 2 more requirement(s). There are also 3 reasons someone might not be able to join (exclusion criteria). Only the trial team can confirm whether you qualify.
What's involved
- About 600 participants are expected to take part.
- Start date: 2026-09-01 (planned).
- Main results expected around 2026-11 (estimate from the record).
- 1 study site listed (1 marked recruiting) in Italy.
Main thing being measured
- Prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease in Pediatric IBD Patients (At study enrollment (cross-sectional assessment))
In the researchers’ words
This multicenter observational cross-sectional study aims to evaluate the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and to compare it with a control group without IBD. Inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, are chronic conditions that can also affect organs outside the intestine.

Questions to ask your doctor and the trial team
- Am I likely to qualify, given my health history?
- What would I have to do, and how often would I need to visit?
- Could I get a placebo? What happens to my current treatment?
- What are the possible risks and benefits?
- Are travel or other costs covered?
- What happens after the trial ends?
